Good morning, friends, and Happy Friday!
I hope before you get going on your flurry of weekend activities you'll take a moment to check out the great sketch challenge at Fab Friday this week.
I really had fun with this sketch. Those lines above and beneath the panel intrigued me. I got started looking for a set to make a collage style. It didn't quite turn out that way in the end - a bit more shabby chic. Using different styles is one way I like to give my MOJO a kick.
I also used two sets I've never used before. And I LOVE them! Isn't it nice how well Bordering Blooms and World of Dreams complement each other?
I made a mess getting myself inky making the watercolored background. I began with watercolor paper spritzed with water, and added dabs of color with sponges. The colors are Crisp Cantaloupe, Rose Red, and Perfect Plum. Use the darker colors sparingly or you'll end up with muddy puddles. If you'd like to learn specific watercolor techniques, check out my tutorial at the end of this post. After the background was dry, I used Tuxedo Momento ink to stamp the image.
I'm loving my daily challenges and hope you are enjoying the results. Now check out the projects by the amazing team at Fab Friday!
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping.
